Ordesa

En esta entrada dejaremos que las imágenes hablen por si solas. Cascadas, bosques, cañones y altas montañas nos acompañan mientras el canto de los pájaros y el agua inundan nuestros sentidos. Simplemente mágico. 

En cuanto a las especies que vimos tenemos; mirlo acuatico (Cinclus cinclus), Rebeco (Rupicapra rupicabra), marmota (Marmota marmota), plantas carnivoras (grasilla pirenaica, Pinguicula longifolia), corzo (Capreolus capreolus), quebrantahuesos (Gypaeus barbatus), buitre leonado (Gyps fulvus), y zapatitos de dama una de las orquídeas mas bellas y mas amenazadas de Europa (Cypripedium calceolus).

On this post we will let the pictures talk by themselves. Waterfalls, forests, huge cliffs and high mountains surround us while the singing of birds and water fills our senses. Simply magical.

Concerning to the species that we saw: dipper (Cinclus cinclus), chamois  (Rupicapra rupicabra), marmots (Marmota marmota), carnivorous plants (Pinguicula longifolia), roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), bearded vulture (Gypaeus barbatus), griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus), and one of the most beautifull and endangered orchids in Europe lady's slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus).

Monte Perdido  el tercer pico más alto del pirineo,desde el circo de Soaso.

Los rebecos parecen jugar a correr entre los grupos de gente.

The chamois seems to play running between groups of people.

Marmotas correteando por las laderas, se pueden oír fácilmente sus gritos de alerta.

Marmots runing by the mountain side, you can easily listen their alarm calls.

Eso es lo que se consigue con un poco de sigilo, lastima la valla en la segunda foto.

That is what you get walking quietly, shame on the fence of the second picture.

Quebrantahuesos uno de nuestro objetivos del viaje, fácilmente observables en el valle de Escuain.

Bearded vultures, one of our targets for this trip, it is easy to find over Escuain's valley.

Algunos buitres leonados bebiendo en un arroyo al lado de la carretera nos dieron un buen susto.

Some griphon vultures drinking from a stream by the road startled us.

Con solo 4 o 5 poblaciones conocidas y unos cientos de ejemplares esta es la única orquídea-trampa de insectos de Europa y una de las más amenazadas.

With 4 or 5 known populations and just few hundred individuals this is the only "insects-trap" orchid in Europe and is one of the most endangered ones.

San Donato: Desnivel, hayas y buitres

San Donato, a pocos kilómetros de Pamplona es una bonita pero exigente excursión. 
Atravesando sus bellos hayedos y salvando un desnivel de aproximadamente 1000 metros se llega a un amplio altiplano con varias formaciones kársticas.

Después de la larga ascensión se agradece andar en llano, bordeamos el acantilado hasta la cima a pocos metros de la ermita que corona la montaña.

Por el camino nos sobrevuelan buitres constantemente, merece la pena madrugar para llegar temprano y verlos remontar las térmicas en sus laderas.

Alimoche, un poco lejos pero aun se ve que esta mudando plumas.

Ademas entre buitres pudimos ver varias veces al alimoche que también habita estos cortados.




San Donato, just few kilometers away from Pamplona it is a beatifull but hard excursion.
We start the ascension through beech forests and saving a difference of nearly 1000 meters where we will arrive to a plateau full of karstic shapes.

También vimos alguna orquídea, Orchis langei.

We also saw some orchids, Orchis langei.

After the long climb it is nice to walk in the plains, the path goes surrounding the cliffs to the summit.
On the way Griffon vultures fly over our heads, It is worth to get up early to be able to see them looking for thermic currents.

We also saw few times Egyptian vultures flying with their bigger cousins.

Picos de Europa

Que decir de los picos de Europa, uno de los lugares más sobrecogedores que hemos visitado, con una naturaleza increíble y una gastronomía que por si sola bien merece una visita. En este Parque Nacional podemos encontrar especies tan emblemáticas como el lobo (Canis lupus), el oso pardo (Ursus arctos), el urogallo (Tetrao urogallus)  y algún que otro quebrantahuesos (Gypaetus barbatus) entre otros muchos endemismos y especies raras y/o interesantes. Os dejamos unas fotos para que juzguéis vosotros mismos.

What to say about Picos de Europa, one of the most awesome places we have ever been, with a incredible nature and gastronomy which alone is well worth a visit. In this National Park we can found emblematic species such as wolfs (Canis lupus), brown bear  (Ursus arctos), capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) and some erratic Bearded vultures (Gypaetus barbatus) and many other endemisms and rare or interesting species.
